OTHER SCHOOLS:
Adelphi: is looking to relax transfer restrictions. Requires 30 credits at their school. Will only accept 90 credits for transfer.
An admissions counselor said that Adelphi might relax their credit restrictions and degree requirements more, but the student must speak with their department's dean and do a course evaluation first.

"...If you or any of your friends want to come to Adelphi to sit down with a counselor to go over your transcripts and go over options, you are welcome to do that by calling 516-877-3050. Also, we are having Transfer Admissions Days for Dowling students on Tuesday June 7 and Thursday June 9th at our Hauppauge Center from 9am to 6pm. Please call our office at 516-877-3050 if you would like to come one of these events."
They accept no more than 90 credits. Scholarships will be available at GPA's of 3.0 or above. Can take up to 18 credits for the flat-fee, more than that per semester will cost more for those wishing to take more classes. Classes of C- will transfer, below won't. Winter classes are very limited and Summer classes don't have financial aid.
Farmingdale State: Ryan Neary is from Dowling and can help. Requires 30 credits at their school. http://www.farmingdale.edu/…/ne…/dowling.transfer.days.shtml
Five Towns: HEOP STUDENTS: Lester has informed me that Five Towns has 40 HEOP openings available.
Hofstra: Requires 30 credits at their school.
Hofstra is only taking 65 credits but they are seeing if they can get that raised. Chances are they won't raise it higher than Adelphi at this point.

Iona College Graduate Schools: Instant Decision Day for Dowling College Students on June 9 at The Snapper Inn from 3-6pm http://www.ionaevents.org/index.php?refresh=true

LIU Post: is attempting to try to match financial aid and possibly relax the transfer limits, but it is still up in the air. Also Only C's or higher will transfer. They will only be taking a max of 96 credits. liu.edu/dowling
Molloy: The ONLY confirmed school having a teach-out agreement; you can keep all of your credits. Other schools are offering to waive transfer fees, not let you transfer everything! Molloy is NOT honoring Dowling Scholarships. molloy.edu/dowling
University of New Haven (Connecticut) has set up a special page and event (6/13) for Dowling students displaced by the unfortunate closure.
"Dowling students - I'm very sorry about what's happened and I hope you are doing well, considering the circumstances. I visited your campus a few times while working in collegiate athletics, and I can't imagine how this is affecting you right now.
I work at University of New Haven (Connecticut), and we have set up a special page for Dowling students displaced by the unfortunate closure. We are also hosting a special transfer student event on Monday, June 13 in Islandia. There, you could talk directly to admissions counselors about your specific situation and get an admissions decision.
We have many of the same programs that were offered at Dowling and hope you'll consider coming to our event or making an individual appointment to talk to a transfer admissions specialist in Islandia about how you can carry over your credits and continue your academic career at UNH.
We realize this will not work for everyone, and not everyone wants to move to Connecticut, but we have many strong academic programs, and a great extracurricular campus life. We also offer a totally-online Bachelor's completion degree in Professional Studies." -Matt McCullough

Nyak College: contact me about Dowling students who need to transfer. Apparently, they are a Christian college so if anyone is interested in that there is that option for them.
St. Joseph's College: Patchogue, they are NOT holding strong to their 90 transfer credit maximum and they will be allowing more than 90 credits to transfer depending on particular courses you have left to complete. They are having a transfer event on Monday between 10 and 4 where they are inviting students to come and discuss further your option to transfer to St. Josephs. You need to RSVP to the event.
"I just left my appointment with St. Joseph's. I only had one class left at Dowling and they seem to be pretty serious about transferring more than 90 credits.I sat with an advisor, who I ended up just leaving my transcripts with because of the amount of time she would need to go through them. She told me if I need 12 credits or less to from St. Joseph's my diploma will be from NYS but if I have over 12 credits to complete at St. Joseph's my diploma will be from St. Joseph's.Dowling also has very different majors and requirements for majors which is odd, but she said they are working with students to accommodate what they can and make your Dowling courses equivalent to St. Joseph’s courses. Also, higher level major courses that have been completed need Department Chair approval to be transferred in instead of taken at St. Joseph’s.I have a follow up appointment on Wednesday where she will tell me where I stand at St. Joseph's and how many credits I have left. Everything there still seems up in the air but I am hoping they pull through for me. I will let you guys know the outcome if they are truly being helpful with transferring more than 90 credits." -Joan Kraft
Stony Brook: for those looking for cheaper options, they are taking a maximum of 84 credits and are not willing to budge on that.

Suffolk County Community College: has opened a dedicated hotline at 631-451-4111 for Dowling students looking to access information regarding financial aid, academic counseling and admissions counseling.
SCCC has also waived its application fee of $40 and will defer transcript and immunization requirements for Dowling students looking to transfer. The college is looking to offer evening hours on its campuses as well. Visit www.SUNYSuffolk.edu for updates.
Vaughn College: In light of the closure of Dowling College announced earlier this week, VaughnCollege will provide assistance to students to support them in the completion of their degree. For those who would like to transfer the following assistance is available:
•Waiving the residency requirements for those students with fewer than 30 remaining credits left to graduate •Waiving the application fee •Providing individual academic and financial evaluations •Hosting informational transfer sessions online and in-person. “We will make every effort to provide a transfer process to Vaughn that is simple, as well as attempt to provide a package that is as close as possible to each student’s current cost of attendance,” said Vice President of Enrollment Services Ernie Shepelsky. “Individual needs will be considered as we assist students with completing their degrees.” Dowling College and Vaughn College are the only institutions in the New York region that are part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI), which prepares students to pursue an air traffic control position with the FAA. This designation could allow students to make a seamless transfer from one CTI program to another. Vaughn is also exploring flight training options for Dowling transfers that may allow them to retain all of their current training hours. Vaughn will host an online informational session for potential transfer students on Monday, June 13 at 4 p.m. featuring a question and answer period. Registration is available at www.vaughn.edu/dowling (link in our bio). For more information, students are encouraged to contact Kristal Singh at 718.429.6600, ext. 290 or kristal.singh@vaughn.edu.
